Boston Common: A Blend of Greenery and History in the City

Boston Common was my first stop upon arriving in this city, and it holds the title of the oldest park in the United States, dating back to 1634. This green space carries centuries of stories. Despite its location in the bustling city center, stepping into the park feels like escaping the urban noise, leaving only the gentle breeze rustling through the treetops and the leisurely presence of pigeons and squirrels. Springtime at Boston Common is particularly enchanting. Vast stretches of green grass are adorned with fresh leaves, cherry blossoms, and tulips blooming under the trees, filling the air with a subtle floral fragrance. Walking along the park's pathways, you'll see locals reading on benches, jogging, or picnicking with their children. My favorite feature is the iconic "Make Way for Ducklings" bronze statue inspired by the beloved children's book. The row of ducklings is irresistibly adorable, often drawing children to climb on them for photos. From Boston Common, I strolled over to the adjacent Boston Public Garden. The two are so close that their boundaries almost blur. The garden features a Swan Boat Pond, which, though not operational during my visit, offered a picturesque view with its shimmering waters reflecting the blue sky and city skyline, creating a unique charm.
