Cambridge, the Historic University Town

The world renowned University of Cambridge is a public collegiate research university in Cambridge, England. Founded in 1209, the University of Cambridge is the third-oldest university in continuous operation. With a train taking as little as 45 minutes, Cambridge is the perfect location for a quick day trip from London during a visit to the UK. Consisting of 31 colleges, a trip to Cambridge will guarantee satisfaction! The university also operates eight cultural and scientific museums, including the Fitzwilliam Museum and Cambridge University Botanic Garden. Cambridge's 116 libraries hold a total of approximately 16 million books, around nine million of which are in Cambridge University Library, a legal deposit library and one of the world's largest academic libraries. Cambridge affiliates (alumni, academics and others holding official appointments) have won 121 Nobel Prizes. Getting there: By Train: Trains from London Kings Cross run up to every 15 minutes. By Road: Cambridge City Council operates numerous park and ride locations around the city. As parking in the city centre is difficult this is by far the best option. #cambridge #university
