Champasak

Champasak is a province of Laos, located in the southernmost part of the country, bordering Thailand and Cambodia. Pakse is the capital city of the province. It is considered the center of politics, administration, economy, and tourism in southern Laos. It is a fertile area because the Mekong River flows through the middle and there are many islands, so it is called "The Land of Four Thousand Dons". Champasak Province has been an area of ​​historical importance since ancient times. The Champasak Kingdom, which was later part of the Lan Xang Kingdom, played an important role in the history of Siam and Laos. There were many wars in and around Champasak.
