Jinsha Site Museum-Greek Cultural Relics Exhibition

The exhibition "Ancient Greece: Myths, Heroes, Destiny -- Treasures from Puglia, Italy" was launched on January 21 at the Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum. This is the first stop of the exhibition's China tour. It is also the first ancient Greek cultural relics exhibition in Sichuan. It comes from the Puglia region of Italy. 119 representative collections from 9 cultural and museum institutions. It vividly presents the historical picture of the environment, architecture, production, life, culture and art of ancient Greece. This exhibition is based on six ancient Greek gods and is divided into six units: "God of the Sea - Poseidon", "God of Agriculture - Demeter", "God of Wisdom - Athena", "God of Light - Apollo", "God of Strength - Hercules" and "God of Wine - Dionysus", explaining the daily life, artistic achievements, spiritual beliefs and cultural heritage of the ancient Greeks. Each god is the embodiment of people's emotions and thoughts. In the exhibits, you can see Apollo playing the lyre, Demeter teaching humans to grow grains, Athena riding a winged chariot... These delicately portrayed scenes not only reflect the ancient Greeks' worship and reverence for the gods, but more importantly, express their love of life and deep understanding of the world, and bear witness to the rich creation of ancient Greek civilization.
