Strolling in Chengdu: From Kuanzhai Alley to Jinli, a dialogue between the city and time

That day, I started my wandering from Kuanzhai Alley. Old walls, green tiles and red lanterns – this is the perfect opening for Chengdu. The Sichuan opera masks, regular customers in the teahouses and the delicious snacks on the street all express a "Ba Shi De Ban" philosophy of life. As I ate ice jelly and watched the face-changing show, I felt like time was in no hurry to pass. Then we turned into Chuntai Shijin, a newly opened cultural and creative alley not far away. It has the flavor of old Chengdu and the creativity of young people. The cafes and design shops here are hidden just right, a surprise for wanderers. In the afternoon, I arrived at Taikoo Li, a wonderful space where fashion and antiquity coexist. As you stroll along, you'll occasionally look up and see the ancient pagoda of Daci Temple, as if you're walking in a city dream where ancient and modern times intertwine. You can buy brand-name products here, or you can buy nothing. It’s worth it just to enjoy the breeze and sun. Finally, I chose to walk into Jinli Ancient Street in the night. The lights came on, the opera began, and I ordered a string of sugar-coated fruits and ate them as I walked, as if I had become a scene in a movie. This is Chengdu. You don’t have to arrange a tight schedule.
