Seeking blessings at Xing’an Temple in Batu 11 Cheras

Xing'an Temple is a beautiful Guandi temple in South Cheras Area The temple is not big, but you can visit the large, golden statue of Guan Gong outside and the Five Tiger Generals behind it. The statue of the deity Guan Di is said to be the tallest statue (of Guan Di) in Selangor Guandi, is a Chinese god of war is a natural favourite of soldiers but has been chosen patron of numerous trades and professions. This is because Guan Yu, the mortal who became Guandi after death, is said by tradition to have been a peddler of bean curd early in life. Emperor Huizong of Song, a bumbling ruler but a devoted Taoist, was the first ruler to make Guan Yu a “deity” in the official Taoist canon. The founder of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) later gave him the higher title of “(heavenly) emperor.” Xing’an is definitely beautifully and colourfully litted up at night and worth a visit if you are in the area!!
