Chiang Khan is perfect for foodies!

📍Travel Overview This is a 2-day, 1-night trip from Vientiane, Laos to Chiang Khan, Thailand! 🚩Route There are two routes to get from Vientiane to Chiang Khan: crossing the Friendship Bridge to Nong Khai and then heading to Chiang Khan, or traveling within Laos to Sanakhan and crossing the Mekong River directly to Chiang Khan. This time, I took the Laos domestic route. 🚇Transportation There’s only one bus departing for Sanakhan at 8 AM. Otherwise, you’ll need to travel to a nearby town and take a taxi to Sanakhan, which was honestly quite challenging! Next time, I’ll go via Nong Khai! For getting around Chiang Khan, I recommend renting a motorbike. You can rent one for 250 baht per day! 📷Recommended Photo Spots The town of Chiang Khan itself has a nostalgic charm, and every corner is picturesque! Unfortunately, it rained during my visit, so I couldn’t take many photos (see photos 7–10). 😿 📸Another Recommended Photo Spot Another great place I visited was a café called Baan Tid Din (บ้านติดดิน). (See photos 11–16.) The food is delicious, and it’s a perfect spot for Instagram-worthy pictures! 🍜Must-Try Food Grilled crab is an absolute must-try! It’s incredibly delicious! (See photos 1–2.) There’s also a papaya salad called "Forget Your Husband Papaya Salad," which is quite amusing! 😂 🏠Recommended Accommodation I stayed at the Chiang Khan River Mountain Resort. It’s a bit pricey, but the facilities and service are excellent. The resort also has a photogenic café and pool. The sunset view from the pool is stunning! (See photos 17–18.) 💡Tips The food is so good that you might end up spending more than you planned! 😂
