Wat Bok Krok Luang, Lanna art mixed with Burmese and Shan

#Rainy season attractions Wat Buak Krok Luang, formerly known as Wat Muang Kham, is one of the oldest temples in Mueang Chiang Mai District. It is not clear when it was built. Chao Kaew Nawarat, the 9th ruler of Chiang Mai, renovated the Lanna-style temple, which is a brick and mortar building with a wooden roof. The murals inside Wat Buak Krok Luang are a mix of Lanna and Burmese-Shan art. They are believed to be from the early 24th-25th Buddhist century. They depict the life of the Buddha and the Ten Jataka tales.
