Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan: The Jewel of Lanna

It is a first-class royal temple, Wora Maha Wihan type, located in Tambon Phra Singh, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province. It was built in 1888 by Phraya Phayu, the fifth king of Chiang Mai of the Mangrai Dynasty, to enshrine the ashes of Phraya Kham Fu, his father. Originally, this temple was called “Wat Li Chiang Phra”. Wat Phra Singh is a temple of historical and cultural significance in Chiang Mai. It is a place worth visiting and paying homage to.
