Amazing animal encounters at Chiang Mai Zoo

#bucketlistreboot It was a dream come true when I visited Chiang Mai Zoo and witnessed so many of my favorite animals in their action. Chiang Mai Zoo is one of the largest and most popular zoos in Northern Thailand sprawling over 200 acres of land on Huay Kiew Road west of Chiang Mai University. The park is privately operated and boasts 400+ species of animals and birds. It also has the marine aquarium which is the largest in Asia. The zoo can be reached by motorbike or tuktuk and it is not that far from the city. Since the zoo is quite huge, you can opt for 2 kilometers Zoo monorail which will drop you in each important spots. There are maps that can be helpful to get around. If you are hungry or thirsty there are plenty of cafes inside the zoo. You can also feed some animals like Elephants and Giraffes. The highlights of the zoo was Penguins, Koala and Panda for me. Entry ticket will cost you 150 THB and extra 100 THB if you are interested to visit Pandas. Monorails will cost you extra but it’s highly recommended. The zoo opens daily from 8am to 5pm and it will take plenty of hours to witness and experience all. Make sure you are in comfortable shoes while visiting.
