Wat Lam Chang is a temple of the Mahanikaya sect, located in Si Phum Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province. Wat Lam Chang was established in 1839 and received royal permission for the boundary markers in 2510. It was built when King Mangrai came to establish Chiang Mai. The east side of Wiang Lek is a forest with a large swamp. It is said that the elephants that were the royal vehicles of the three kings and their courtiers were kept and tethered in this area, called Wiang Chiang Chang. A temple was built in this area and named "Wat Lam Chang".
