There is a double-arched stone bridge called Nanshu Bridge over the river that flows next to the shrine. There is also the Wada Town Saigo Nanshu Memorial Museum, which is within walking distance. It is a so-called historical museum. It is said that he realized the idea of ​​"respecting heaven and loving people" after living in a harsh prison here. In front of the memorial museum, a small lattice prison has been reproduced, and inside there is a statue of a skinny Saigo Takamori.
