An Unexpected Gem in Chongqing

This Taoist temple was an unexpected gem of a find when travelling through Chongqing. I had seen it pop up on Instagram and various travel blogs before, but didn't expect it to be such a pleasant place to visit! It was tucked away on a hillside near Fotuguan Park, and the area surrounding the temple itself was pretty tranquil. We were one of the only people visiting the temple that day (even during National Week!) and thoroughly enjoyed having the place to ourselves ot take pictures, and just sit and enjoy the view from one of the side courtyards. The temple itself is said to showcase a blend of both Taoist beliefs and traditional Chinese architectural design, so it features a pretty unique style and a totally instagrammable yin-yang symbol in the central courtyard just in front of the main hall.
