| InterContinental Jiuzhai Paradise Resort. A hotel that had been on my list for a long time, finally visited during off-peak season. The guest relations team deserves full marks for their thoughtfulness and maximizing member benefits, though this level of service might not be replicable every time. The front desk was average with mechanical communication. Arriving after 3 PM, my room wasn't ready yet. Room facilities are very dated, though it's clear they're trying their best to maintain them. The hotel exclusively occupies the beautiful Xiangshan Peninsula, situated within a botanical garden with stunning natural scenery. There are hiking trails that cross the peninsula, making it easy to understand why this was once an InterContinental flagship property. Breakfast is abundant, with restaurant staff maintaining good standards. During full capacity, they provide seating guidance and table introductions. A pleasant surprise was the baby food station, which was excellent. However, the restaurant equipment is quite outdated. The lounge is barely adequate, with the only highlight being signature cocktails made to order. One hot dish and a noodle station are available, but not recommended as a proper meal. The panda cars and bicycle rentals are nice touches. The botanical garden behind the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The hotel is spacious with great views, and both indoor and outdoor pools enhance the vacation atmosphere. Still highly recommended despite aging hardware, as the staff's dedication compensates for it. The natural scenery and secluded environment make it a peaceful retreat.
