The Most Unique Church in Spain—Córdoba Cathedral.

Did you know that there is a church in Spain with distinct mosque features? During this trip to Europe, I visited many different churches. Although they were beautiful, most of them looked quite similar, which led to a bit of aesthetic fatigue 🫠. However, the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba (Catedral de Córdoba) in the Andalusia region of southern Spain is truly unique! It was a refreshing sight 🤍. This church was originally built as a mosque by Muslims in 785 AD and was later converted into a church in the 16th century after the Christian conquest. It combines Islamic and Christian architectural styles, especially its famous red and white arches and the magnificent Baroque-style altar. As soon as we walked in, we saw many red and white arches. Initially, I thought there were only a few, but it turns out the entire church is filled with arches. Under the sunlight, the colors of the arches become even more striking. It's perfect for photography 🤍. The church also houses many artworks and grand altars, making it well worth a visit! We visited twenty different churches, and we unanimously agreed that this is one of the must-visit churches! It retains the features of a mosque while incorporating Christian elements. You won't feel any sense of discord; it's truly magical! If you visit Spain, I highly recommend heading to the south to see this culturally blended church ⛪️🕌.
