🏛️ Corfu’s Most Unexpected Wow Moment – And It’s Not the Beach! 🎎

Stumbled across the Museum of Asian Art in Corfu Town and it honestly blew me away. Set in a grand old palace (complete with marble columns and sea views – very Greek drama), this place houses over 15,000 Asian pieces – one of the most impressive collections I’ve ever seen outside Asia. It was all started by a Greek diplomat, Gregorios Manos, who collected incredible Chinese, Japanese, and other East Asian works during his travels in the early 1900s. What really stood out to me were the Buddhist artefacts – serene statues, intricate ritual items, scrolls and thangkas from Tibet, Nepal and beyond. If you’re into Buddhism, meditation, or just love the aesthetics, you’ll find loads to take in here. There’s one striking black statue in the main hall that completely stopped me in my tracks. It’s cool (literally – great if the heat’s a bit much), peaceful, and full of proper wow moments.
