Stendhal Hotel Review: A Comfortable Stay for Couples with Early Check-in Perks

Arrival and Check-in: We arrived early, around 2 PM, aiming to park and head out. To our pleasant surprise, the desk staff, after confirming our reservation, allowed us to check in early. Their friendliness and flexibility were greatly appreciated. Normal check-in is at 3 PM and check-out is at 11 AM, but we had the benefit of a late 12 PM checkout from our booking site, allowing us to relax a bit longer in the morning. Room and Amenities: Double rooms at the Stendhal Hotel start from 100,000 KRW. We found this to be quite reasonable for our stay. The hotel room itself had a few minor drawbacks. The windows were small, and while our "project window" allowed for an unobstructed view, we weren't sure about other rooms. The reviewer also mentioned a slight "motel-like" feel, which was a personal impression despite it being a 4-star hotel. This seems to be a compromise for the good value. We appreciated that amenities like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, and lotion were provided in a box, though we opted to use our own. A big plus was the complimentary bottled water and even sparkling water in the mini-fridge – a thoughtful touch! Bathroom: The bathroom was divided, with a separate toilet stall to the left and a sink, bathtub, and shower area to the right. While the bathroom felt a bit cramped, it was impeccably clean and perfectly functional. Dining and Common Areas: For breakfast at the 1st floor restaurant, guests simply state their room number or reservation name to be guided to their meal. The restaurant area itself felt spacious with high ceilings and large windows offering a view outside, preventing any feeling of stuffiness. While there isn't a dedicated lounge area, there are a few small bench-style chairs in front of the restaurant. Overall Impression: The Stendhal Hotel in Daejeon offers good value for money, particularly for couples. The early check-in was a major convenience, and the polite and flexible staff enhanced our experience. While the room's window size and a slight "motel-like" impression were noted, the cleanliness, thoughtful amenities like sparkling water, and accommodating staff make it a recommended option for those seeking a cost-effective stay in Daejeon. #relaxing #daejeon #hotelstay
