Tottori, Japan: Accommodation at Daisen's Nordic-style cabin OLIF

After sharing a Room Tour on my story post, many friends and followers were asking about this accommodation. So, here's a detailed introduction! This time, I went on a 6-day self-driving trip with my family to Tottori and Shimane. For the first two nights, we stayed at OLIF villa in AKEMANOMORI, located in Daisen. OLIF is situated in Daisen, and its location is quite remote, so I only recommend it for self-driving trips. It takes about 40 minutes to drive from Yonago Kitaro Airport to OLIF. We stopped by a convenience store along the way, so it took us roughly an hour to arrive. Using GPS/Google Maps, it wasn’t difficult to find. The check-in time at OLIF is from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and we arrived around 5:15 PM. Upon driving in, we were greeted by a beautiful garden. First, we went to the Guest House to check in, and the staff kindly guided us to our assigned cabin and introduced the facilities. They were very friendly! This area is actually a whole village with various types of accommodations. The cabin we chose is OLIF, a Nordic-style wooden house, and there are five of them. Although I had seen pictures when booking, the actual experience was even more stunning. The interior of the cabin was breathtaking, and combined with the surrounding environment, the vibe was truly incredible. Even my family kept asking what amazing place I had booked 😂 Each cabin comes with a parking space. Inside, there are two twin bedrooms, a living room, a small kitchen, a microwave, indoor and outdoor bathtubs, and even pajamas provided. There’s a wood-burning stove indoors, but it’s only usable during snowy winters. Outside, there’s a small platform, but since it’s in the countryside, you might encounter some insects. Also, note that there’s no TV inside the cabin! (My dad had a million questions about this), but since we mostly used our phones, it didn’t bother me much. Initially, I wanted to try glamping, but I stumbled upon OLIF by chance, and it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. If you love nature or, like me, rarely get to immerse yourself in it but want to experience tranquility, I recommend staying here for a few days. In the morning, take some time to walk around and enjoy the beautifully planted flowers and fresh air. At night, you can even see countless stars! However, the area around OLIF gets very dark at night, so drive carefully. A funny little incident happened during our stay. There’s a hall in the village, and on the day we checked out, there happened to be a wedding, so we couldn’t explore too far. Later, my mom looked at the photos and realized that one of her colleagues had previously come here for their wedding. Haha, it seems this place is quite popular among Hong Kongers! Check-in: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM Check-out: 10:00 AM 2025 Price Reference: HK$2,780 per house per night *Prices can vary significantly.
