Wat Nermit Vipassana, Dan Sai District, Loei Province

Wat Nermit Vipassana is located in Dan Sai District, Loei Province. The temple is located prominently on a hill, just a short distance from Phra That Si Song Rak. The entire ordination hall and pagoda in the temple are built entirely of laterite. The large ordination hall is exquisitely decorated in the style of Central Thai art. It is the largest in Thailand. It was designed and imaginatively created by monks and novices. There are beautiful paintings all around. There is a replica of Phra Buddha Chinnarat as the principal Buddha image and a wax figure of Luang Pho Phra Maha Phan Silwisuttho, who initiated the construction of the temple and has since passed away. The surrounding area is beautifully landscaped with shady trees and an important tree in Buddhism, the "Sala Tree", the tree where the Lord Buddha was born.
