Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine

Dazaifu Tenmangu is a historic shrine located in Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is the center of Tenmangu shrines nationwide that worship the god of learning, Sugawara no Michizane. It is a place where many students and examinees visit to pray for academic success. There are many ema (絵馬) hanging on the grounds, and wooden boards with wishes written on them sway in the wind, creating a spectacular sight. The grounds are filled with elegant gardens, ponds, red bridges, and traditional architecture, allowing you to fully experience the sacred atmosphere of Japan.
