Moganshan Villa No. 450

Villa No. 450 in Moganshan is the Moganshan Catholic Church. The villa was built by American missionary Hayes and completed in July 1923. It is a typical medieval castle-style building in the Moganshan complex. Formerly known as the "Gathering Hall", it was a venue for Christian activities. After the 1950s, it was converted into a conference hall for large-scale conferences and film screenings. On September 12, 1984, the "Moganshan Conference" was held here. In 2018, the villa was reopened to the public after renovation. Moganshan Villa is built with stone, with stone walls and stone pillars, standing on the top of the mountain. The windows and doors are decorated with colorful stained glass, and the floor is covered with Western-style mosaic tiles with delicate texture and exquisite patterns, which echo the stained glass and together create the elegant style of European architecture. The villa has three floors in total. The third floor is the first floor you enter. It is an auditorium that can accommodate 600 people. It has a stage and the auditorium is sloped. The second floor is a cafe and the first floor is a wine cellar that is not open.
