Although it's a bit of a hike, the waterfall is a great bonus!

After a long drive in and out of the Eastfjords from the South Coast, I had to really work up the courage to hike before driving to my accommodation in Seyðisfjörður. I'm glad I did it. I really want to see this striped waterfall. This is a steep uphill hike, but luckily it’s not too long at only 2km each way. In fact, you can see the upper part of the waterfall from the beginning of the hike. The last 25% or so of the hike is a rough, stone path filled with slippery boulders. However, it should be no problem for people of average physique and agility to take their time. The 360 ​​degree views up and down are amazing. On the way to climb the small waterfall, you will pass Littlefoss. There is a viewing platform at the end of the trail where you can see the beautiful scenery of the waterfall. If you wish you can walk over the boulders outside the trail to get closer to the waterfall. Interesting waterfall, tall and the earth surrounding it has colorful streaks due to different mineral layers. We climbed steadily up the mountain along the path on the left.
