Amazing Diamond Beach

Diamond Beach is one of the most spectacular places in Iceland. It's a black sand beach littered with huge chunks of ice that have broken off from the nearby Jökulsárlón glacier and were carried all the way to the beach. You can explore the area on foot or join a short boat tour. Bring a bottle to carry some of the melting water, which is so pure and delicious. Wildlife enthusiasts will also find many birds here. Diamond Beach is located in Jökulsárlón on the south coast of Iceland. You can get there on your own with a rental car, or join one of the daily tours. The area itself is open all day and is free of charge, though you do have to pay for the boat tour.
