After walking along the Leith River promenade and passing the Dean Bridge, you will encounter the statue of Hygeia, the goddess of health, standing proudly on the banks of the Leith River. Protected by eight towering columns, the goddess stands silently in the oasis of Dean Gardens in the mysterious city of Edinburgh, guarding a spring that is said to cure all kinds of diseases. This charming building is called "St. Bernard's Well". Bernard's Well has been here for almost 230 years. It and the goddess are the main #historicalmonumentand #historiclandmark of this garden. The 9-acre semi-woodland Dean Gardens was built by local residents in the 1860s and includes part of the magnificent structure of the Dean Bridge.
