Jujing Bridge

Located in Xiwu Town, Fenghua District, Ningbo, Jujing Bridge is a three-arch stone bridge running east-west. Originally built in the 19th year of the Jiajing era (1540) during the Ming Dynasty, it was first named Guijing Bridge (with "Gui" pronounced as "Ju" in local dialect). The turtle, an ancient auspicious symbol often paired with cranes representing longevity, inspired the bridge's current elegant name through phonetic adaptation. The present structure dates back to its major renovation in the 26th year of the Wanli era (1598). As Fenghua's oldest documented stone arch bridge with precise historical records, it underwent partial railing repairs in 2003. In 1987, the Fenghua County Government designated it as a county-level cultural heritage protection unit.
