Fitzroy Island 🏖️

#chillandthrill Fitzroy Island in Queensland, Australia, was like stepping into paradise! 🌴🌊 Just a 45-minute ferry ride from Cairns, the island offered the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. The ferry cost about $85 round trip, and there was no entrance fee for the island itself. I spent the day snorkeling at Welcome Bay, where the coral reefs were stunning, and I even saw a sea turtle! 🐢 The island also has a short hike to the Secret Garden ($0), which felt like wandering through a lush rainforest. For a challenge, I tackled the Summit Track, which rewarded me with panoramic views of the Coral Sea. 🌅 If hiking isn’t your thing, there’s Nudey Beach—a slice of pure heaven with soft white sand. Nearby, you can explore the Great Barrier Reef with tours departing directly from Fitzroy Island. It’s also home to a Turtle Rehabilitation Centre (entry $11), where you can learn about turtle conservation efforts. 🐚💚 The island had a chilled-out vibe, with a café and bar serving snacks and drinks.
