#AprilGoodDestinations2025 The Piazza della Santissima Annunziata in Florence was built by Renaissance architectural masters. Behind the central porch of the square stands the Basilica della Santissima Annunziata. In 1250, the seven founders of the Congregation chose the wilderness outside the walls of Florence and built the first chapel. On the right side of the square is the Renaissance orphanage, and on the left is the Loggia dei Serviti (Loggia dei Serviti). This historic building is famous for its exquisite corridors and classical columns. Together with the church and the orphanage, it forms a rare complete set of three Renaissance buildings in Florence, witnessing the evolution of architectural aesthetics from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
