Fab Folkestone Rocks

📍 Itinerary Overview Folkestone is a typical British Seaside Town thats in commuting distance from London, as it benefits from being on the Channel Tunnel train line, you can be here in an hour from St Pancras. Its seeing a huge revival with major investment taking place to see it have another hay day. The development of the Harbour Arm is worth looking at, as is the Cultural Quarter (but note part of this is a steep hill and cobbled street so be aware). Its a great place for a chilled lazy weekend, and staying on the Harbour is a must for me. The one hotel for me is the Grand Burstin Hotel, a Brittania Hotels property. It's a 550 room massive hotel, built to look like a Cruise Ship it has a dozen floors of rooms. Its seen many a distinguished traveller including HRH Queen Elizabeth II on a few occasions, she found the hotel to be "most delightful" Having had major investment recently, which it needed, it's still a no frills place but the rooms are acceptable and clean. It's like a huge holiday camp, had buffet style food venues and entertainment laid on. The staff make this place, 100%. Just be aware no cash is taken at the hotel. Its a good place for a base and great to wake up overlooking the shoreline. 🚇 Transportation - the best way is by Southeastern Trains, two stations the main one being Folkestone Central 📷 Photo Spots I'm a big fan of the Harbour 🍜 Local Cuisine so many great spots but the Harbour Arm wins for mw 🏠 Accommodation 1.The Grand Burstin Hotel A 550 room HUGE Britannia Hotel that's had some serious investment recently. It's still a no frills place but the rooms are nice and it's worth the upgrade to a Sea View / Premier Room. Ask for the 8tb Floor it's only got 24 rooms and all have balconies. 💡 Tips
