A hidden cherry blossom viewing spot in Fukuoka Prefecture—Hokkehara Hanateien at Myōhōji Temple, located in Ukiha City, Fukuoka Prefecture. It is not far from JR Chikugo-Yoshii Station. To get there from Hakata Station, take a train to Kurume Station, then transfer to Chikugo-Yoshii Station, followed by a short walk or bus ride. The highlight of Hokkehara Hanateien is the majestic 10-meter-tall Minobu weeping cherry tree, which is 60 years old. Every mid-March, the tree blooms into a cascading sea of cherry blossoms, resembling a waterfall. Visitors can enjoy the blossoms under red umbrella seating, experiencing its charm both during the day and at night. During the day, the golden rapeseed flowers, pale pink cherry blossoms, and blue skies create a picturesque spring scene that is truly delightful. At night, the garden is illuminated, transforming into a completely different spectacle. The swaying romantic night cherry blossoms make visitors feel as if they are in a dreamlike world.
