Qinghai Lake, China's largest saltwater lake, freezes every December and thaws in April, experiencing a five-month icebound period. As the spring breeze blows, the ice breaks, and the azure lake water reappears, unveiling the magnificent spectacle of the "lake opening." On March 20, 2025, the Spring Equinox, the "Qinghai Lake Opening Season" series of events grandly commenced at Shengquan Bay (Cliff Scenic Area) in Gangcha County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. This sapphire at 36 degrees north latitude is quietly awakening from its long winter slumber.
