When you think of Gangneung, you think of soft tofu, and what else? Gelato!

Gangneung, which is only 2 hours away from Seoul by train! When you think of Gangneung, Chodang Sundubu Village is the most famous. I tried Sonamujip Chodang Sundubu! When I arrived in the morning, it was a little crowded, but the wait wasn't too long. If you wait about 5 minutes, they will show you to your seat right away. There was a spicy Sundubu stew, but I ordered Sundubu Baekban to taste the original taste of Sundubu. As you can see in the picture, it has white Sundubu, plain rice, rich bean curd stew, and various side dishes! It looks really simple, but it fills you up and tastes really different from the Sundubu I used to eat in downtown Seoul. The bean curd stew was really soft and rich, so I could eat it without any resistance. After eating, I ordered Sundubu gelato from Sundubu Gelato No. 1 right next to the entrance. At first, I was a little reluctant because it tasted like Sundubu, but it really did taste like Sundubu, but I didn't feel any resistance at all. It was a mild soft tofu gelato that seemed to have a slightly salty taste. In addition to the soft tofu flavor, there are many other flavors such as black sesame and pistachio.
