Clouds, Wind, and a Surprise Leg Day

#summervacay Hambaeksan might not be the most hyped mountain in Korea, but honestly? It delivers. The trail’s got that steady incline energy, not brutal, but definitely enough to remind you that, yeah, hiking is exercise. But the real star here? The ridge. Once you’re up there, it’s this wide-open, wind-swept path that feels like you’re walking on top of the world. No trees blocking the view, just endless sky, rolling hills, and maybe some dramatic clouds doing their thing. I went in summer and the wildflowers were thriving, total meadowcore vibes. It’s not too crowded either, which is a blessing. Just you, a few other hikers, and the sound of the wind making you feel all introspective and peaceful. Pack a windbreaker though, it gets breezy at the top, and your sweaty self will thank you. All in all? Hambaeksan is low-key iconic. Good workout, amazing views, and just the right amount of challenge. Would 100% hike it again, sore legs and all.
