Off the Radar and Into the Trees

#summervacay Gariwangsan isn’t the most famous mountain in Korea, but that’s kind of what makes it awesome. We went in with zero expectations and ended up loving the quiet, no-rush vibe. It’s a pretty tall one (1,561m), but the trail eases you in, nothing super steep right off the bat, just a nice, steady forest walk. The best part? Hardly any crowds. It felt like we had the mountain to ourselves most of the way. Just trees, birds, and the occasional squirrel judging our snack breaks. The trail gets a bit more challenging near the top, but by then you’re fully in the zone. Views from the summit are wide open and peaceful, rolling hills, sky, and a real sense of calm. No fancy gear needed, just decent shoes, water, and chill energy. If you're looking for a more off-the-beaten-path mountain day with nature and zero pressure, Gariwangsan is a hidden gem worth checking out.
