This Chinese New Year in Penang...take a boat to Butterworth

After walking around City Hall and Town Hall, the hot sun stopped for a cold fruit juice at the food center on the Esplanade (a promenade by the sea) next to Fort Collwallis. But now Fort Collallis is closed for renovation, so I took a picture of the cruise ship docked in Penang instead. This is where the deep-sea port is located. There are cruise ships traveling between islands, such as to Langkawi, as well as ferries from Penang to Butterworth. The Spectrum of the Sea cruise ship is docking for people on the ship to come out to visit Penang Island. This ship is very big, like a floating hotel. I have never been on a cruise ship, but seeing it is exciting because of its size. At this port, there is a ferry that I used to take many years ago. It is a big ship that cars can get on and off like the Samui ferry. But now it has been changed to a small, air-conditioned, 2-story ship. Comfortable to sit on. It takes 10 minutes to arrive at the Butterworth shore. The ride there is free. The ride back costs money. It is very convenient. There are many people using the service.
