🌸 Flower Mulan Nyonya Cafe – A Beautiful Step Back in Time with Flavour to Match

We stumbled upon Flower Mulan Nyonya Cafe along Burma Road quite by chance. I had passed by the day before and was drawn in by the charming frontage, but didn’t step in until the next day—this time with my missus in tow. And I’m so glad we did. The moment we entered, it felt like we had been transported back in time. The place is filled with antiques—ornate cabinets, vintage décor, porcelain pieces—all tastefully scattered around the space. It didn’t feel like a restaurant at all, but more like dining in someone’s lovingly preserved heritage home. Though it was just the two of us, we couldn’t resist sampling as much as we could. We ordered five dishes and a blue pea flower rice. Every single dish was exceptional, but the rice deserves a special mention—it was fragrant, full of flavour, and hands down the best blue pea rice I’ve had. The service was warm and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The staff were friendly without being overbearing, and it felt like they genuinely cared about their craft. Also worth noting: the cafe is incredibly photogenic. With its beautifully curated interior, it’s a haven for Instagram lovers. It’s no surprise that this spot has made it into the Michelin Guide. Prices are slightly on the premium side, but given the quality, ambience, and overall experience, I’d say it’s worth every cent. A memorable Nyonya dining experience that blends tradition, aesthetics, and great food.
