A Day Trip to Phantasialand Near Cologne

Here's a recap of my visit to Phantasialand a couple of weeks ago. Transportation: I stayed in Cologne and took Linie 18 to Brühl Mitte, then transferred to the shuttle bus (4 euros round trip, cash only). The bus driver sells tickets while waiting, and there's a pillar marked 'Phantasialand' where you can wait. Tickets: Our tickets were a gift from last year, valued at 57 euros. During the summer special, we added 15 euros to the value and got two tickets for 70 euros. If you have similar gift vouchers, even from other amusement parks, try this for a great deal! Attractions: Black Mamba was thrilling and a great start since the wait was only about 10 minutes. Colorado Adventure was surprisingly fun, despite being underestimated due to the number of kids in line. There's a China Town area with some less exciting rides, which served as a good break. River Quest was a water ride that got us soaked, but the sunny weather dried us off quickly. Lunch: We dined at Restaurant Cocorico, enjoying delicious tapas and bread without getting too full. Raik is a quick roller coaster ride, both forward and backward. Taron is the fastest coaster with noticeable acceleration sounds, leaving my legs shaky. I skipped F.L.Y for next time. Crazy Bats is an indoor VR coaster; my glasses were loose, and the line was long. Our final ride was Chiapas-Die Wasserbahn, sharing a boat with a family using fast passes. They wore raincoats and put us in the front, but it was fun! Tips: Wear sandals and bring a waterproof backpack, but keep it light. No need for raincoats in summer as you'll dry quickly in good weather. Many kids and teens visit in summer, leading to long lines. We went on June 9th, a non-holiday Friday with fewer people than weekends. We arrived at 11 AM, with most lines around 20 minutes, except Crazy Bats, which took 45 minutes.
