Yamdrok Lake in Tibet is like a solidified poem, a flowing painting.

Also known as Yang Lake, Yamdrok Lake is located in the Tibet Autonomous Region. With a surface elevation of 4,441 meters, the lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and icy peaks that never melt, the highest of which exceeds 7,000 meters, creating a magnificent natural landscape. Several islands dot the lake, including Sedo Island, a haven for birds such as bar-headed geese and brown-headed gulls, forming a vibrant ecosystem. Yamdrok Lake is a paradise for birds. Among its many islands, Sedo Bird Island boasts over 2,800 bird nests. The area around the lake is also home to Class I and II state-protected animals such as snow leopards, argali, and wild donkeys. Several ancient temples, such as Rituo Monastery, Rido Island, and Samding Monastery, are scattered around the lake. These temples are not only religious sites but also excellent places for tourists to experience Tibetan culture and history. From afar, Yamdrok Lake offers a view of tranquil mountains and clear blue waters, a scene both serene and awe-inspiring.
