7-Day, 6-Night Luxury Self-Drive Tour of Snowy Yili When it comes to winter in Xinjiang, the most popular destinations are Hemu and Kanas in Altay Prefecture. This time, we took a different winter route. Snowy Yili River Valley in Northern Xinjiang; Day 1: Depart from Urumqi and head west along the Lianhuo Expressway to Sayram Lake. Drive along the road around the lake and take photos from every angle. Stay overnight at a luxury campsite by the lake. Day 2: Depart from Sayram Lake and pass through the Guozigou Bridge. We found a hidden gem, which is the location in the first picture. After taking photos, we headed to the Kurdening Scenic Area and stayed at the Kurdening Camp. As shown in the photo, we stayed in a detached wooden house in the scenic area and had hot pot for dinner. You can also go horseback riding or snowmobiling. Day 3: Kurdening to Nalati Grassland. In the afternoon, we took photos of the grassland, which was covered in snow. In the evening, we went to a hot spring to relax. Day 4: Skiing in Nalati. The ski resort is located in the scenic area and has a 5.8 km ski run. The scenery is beautiful. If you want to experience the joy of skiing on wild snow, we can also arrange a snowmobile to take you deep into the forest. Day 5: Sleep in and return to Yining. Today, we will take you to Kazanqi Folk Village and Liuxing Street to try some local delicacies. Stay overnight in Yining. Day 6: Fly back home from Yining or return to Urumqi with us.
