Princess of Wales

Unless you're a local, you'd have to be on a mission to find yourself at the Princess of Wales in lower Clapton. It's not on any established pub crawl route I know of, and it's not even that close to a bus route. What it does provide though is riverside drinking, being on the banks of the River Lea and minutes from an attraction known as Nature's Throne. It's also next to a Buddhist temple. The pub's part of the Youngs chain so you'll find good food and sensible ales. There's plenty of space inside and out, but it's the prospect of drinking next to the river that makes it worthwhile. Make the most of it in these last few weeks before summer turns to autumn turns to winter.
