Golden Hour Blossoms at Bern’s Rose Garden

#cherryblossom25 Chasing the sunset through sakura petals in Switzerland’s capital After returning from Morges, I found myself with an hour to spare before sunset during a transit stop in Bern. Spontaneously, I hopped on a bus heading uphill to the Rosengarten (Rose Garden) — one of the best panoramic spots in the city. It was a perfect Friday evening, warm and brilliantly sunny. The hillside was already filled with groups of friends, families, and photographers staking out the best angles. Though the cherry trees aren’t densely packed, they are in full bloom right now, and with the distant snow-capped Alps in full view, the scene felt like a page out of a storybook. As the sun dipped lower, the sakura began to glow in hues of blush and gold, their petals catching the final light of day. From the top, you can see the rooftops of Bern’s charming old town, the pale green dome of the Swiss Parliament Building, and steeples rising in the distance. Everyone was soaking up the moment in their own way — sipping wine, reading, chatting softly, or simply sitting still. Next to me, two young guys were discussing how one of them had traveled from Basel five days in a row just to capture the perfect shot of this fleeting beauty. Talk about dedication! Cherry blossom peak is now! And the weather’s holding up beautifully.
