Check in at Guangzhou Haizhu Square

#Mainland China Attractions Haizhu Square, built in 1953, is located at the intersection of the central axis of Guangzhou’s old city and the riverside landscape belt. It is the only riverside square in Guangzhou. The square is covered with green grass and planted with palm trees, red cotton trees and other trees. The entire square has a subtropical character. In the center of the square stands the Guangzhou Liberation Memorial Statue, built in 1959. The statue has a millet bag on its shoulder, one hand tightly grasps a rifle, the other hand holds flowers, and it gazes into the distance with a smile. The statue is engraved with Ye Jianying's inscription "Commemoration of Liberation on October 14, 1949" and is a landmark sculpture building on Yanjiang Road. It is worth mentioning that Lin Keming, the designer of Haizhu Square, is a pioneer of modern Chinese architecture and has made great contributions to the urban architectural design of Guangzhou. Starting from Haizhu Bridge and ending at Sun Yat-sen Memorial, this 12-kilometer-long historical axis of Guangzhou has a harmonious and unified architectural style, thanks to Lin Keming's outspokenness and unique design vision at the time.
