Guangzhou Changdi revival? A century-old building is revitalized and opened! 🏛️

I have felt sorry countless times. Guangzhou Changdi, which started earlier than Shanghai Bund and was once the most prosperous city that never sleeps in China a hundred years ago, why has it become a wholesale market where electric vehicles and trucks are rampant today? Every time I want to recommend my friends from other places to take a walk along the West Yanjiang Road, but when I think about the fact that I can only take pictures of the exteriors of the several exquisite historical buildings on the riverside and quickly check in, and that I can’t visit the Guangdong Customs, the Southern Building, and the Postal Expo, and have no way of learning about the prosperous history of the Long Causeway, I feel helpless and angry! Among them, the century-old site of the Guangdong Postal Administration is one of the landmarks that tourists must visit when visiting Changdi. When it was a postal exhibition hall, the first floor was open to the public to display some special stamps, but later it was closed for a long time. Last year, Cartier contracted the building to hold a jewelry exhibition. I went up to the second floor for the first time and saw more areas, but the original walls of the building were also blocked by the exhibition. I only felt that it was actually very large inside, but I couldn’t see its true appearance at all. But finally! Recently I received a very exciting news that the Postal Expo will be revitalized and reopened as the Xiti Art and Culture Center! What attracted me most was the unparalleled river view from the balconies on the second and third floors! Look up and you will see the elegant Ionic columns, and look down at the Pearl River while drinking coffee - just thinking about it makes me feel great! The process of repairing historical buildings is cumbersome and requires huge investment. The manager is really passionate and willing to take on the responsibility of revitalizing it. It is said that it will be completed and opened around May next year. It will integrate exhibitions, catering, and coffee.
