If you want to find a boutique hotel in Guangzhou with a prime river view, located in the city center, where you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the old town and the cultural atmosphere, and even a member of SLH, this is the only one. The hotel's public area design showcases Guangzhou's unique history, customs, and cultural stories. The two hand-painted oil paintings on both sides of the lobby depict the prosperity of "Huangpu Ancient Port" and "Guangzhou Thirteen Hongs," highlighting the rich history of this ancient commercial city. The corridors incorporate iconic Guangzhou architectural elements such as Manchurian windows, sliding doors, and blue bricks. The walls also display photos of Guangzhou's historical changes, allowing guests to better understand the transformation and development of this ancient city with over 2,000 years of history. This time, I stayed in the hotel's Deluxe Room, which is 42 square meters and more spacious than the basic room type. The hotel rooms have five themes: "Flower Hall," "Residence," "Business Exchange," "Orchid Court," and "Water Dance." Each theme has a different main color and decoration, all closely related to Guangzhou or the southern region. The room I stayed in was themed "Flower Hall." Upon entering, you can see an art oil painting representing the room's theme. The large area of pink in the painting matches Guangzhou's reputation as the "Flower City," and the deeper red in the center echoes Guangzhou's city flower, the kapok. Compared to the Elegant Room, the Deluxe Room has an additional 10 square meters, mainly for a small living room and desk, allowing guests to read on the sofa or enjoy the view of the Pearl River. The room also features many old Guangzhou-style elements, such as bedside lamps with ink painting lampshades, Chinese-style wooden chairs, and vintage table lamps, creating a strong Lingnan residential atmosphere. The bathroom's large white stone tiles make the space bright and luxurious. The dressing table, washbasin, towel rack, and jewelry box on the dressing table are all traditional Chinese furniture styles. The coexistence of traditional furniture and modern bathroom facilities in the same space is refreshing and interesting. Breakfast is served at the Five Tea House on the first floor, with an à la carte menu offering Guangzhou specialties like bamboo noodles and Cantonese congee. The overall quality and taste are quite good, living up to Guangzhou's reputation as a food capital.
