Spend a sunny weekend afternoon on Shamian Island. 📍Shamian Island, Liwan District. Take Metro Line 1 to Huangsha Station, Exit F. Free entry. 2–4 hours is the perfect amount of time to spend here. The sunlight is perfect for photos from 11 am to 3 pm. 📸Photo spots: Cafe Fleur, a former French bank, is a beautiful cafe with rich coffee and a rich exhibition on the second floor (closed on Mondays); the former New Zealand Trading Company is now a coffee and tea shop with an interesting exhibition and apples for good luck; the retro McDonald's, Tiffany-colored Starbucks, In Arcade Gallery with a Picasso exhibition, Cat Poop Coffee in a former police station, the grand former HSBC building, the bright former Bank of Taiwan, the elegant Foreign Affairs Museum, the quiet Garden Street, and the sacred church are all worth a visit. The European-style Renmin Bridge on the Pearl River is also a great photo spot. 🍽Food: The pigeon and eel rice at Qiao Mei Shi Jia is delicious; the train-themed Pho Western Restaurant has a strong train theme; the White Swan Hotel is luxurious and beautiful, with delicious food; the antique coffee shop in the former Shenchang Trading Company is full of history. Yongqing Fang is a 15–20 minute walk away. It's full of shops, food, and photo spots. Visit the Moon Bridge at night for a romantic experience. Shamian Island and Yongqing Fang are waiting for you!
