Guangzhou Thirteen Hongs Museum

Guangzhou Thirteen Hongs Museum is located in Guangzhou Cultural Park in Liwan District, Guangzhou. It was established in September 2016 and is a national third-class museum. The museum has permanent exhibitions: The first floor is the "History of the Thirteen Hongs of Guangzhou in the Qing Dynasty" exhibition, which displays the glory and demise of the Thirteen Hongs and reflects the history of China's foreign trade and the Guangzhou merchant community. The second floor is the "Exhibition of Cultural Relics from the Thirteen Hongs Period Donated by Wang Heng and Feng Jie," which displays more than 4,000 precious cultural relics donated by Mr. Wang Heng and his wife, Ms. Feng Jie, including Guangzhou painted porcelain, pith paintings, and Cantonese embroidery. The museum's collection of cultural relics mainly showcases export handicrafts from Guangzhou in the Qing Dynasty. The relics are characterized by a combination of Chinese and Western styles, such as the Guangzhou painted porcelain ice pot with openwork floral and figure patterns and the Guangzhou painted porcelain bowl with a foreign voyage pattern, which reflect the craftsmanship and superb skills of the Thirteen Hongs period.
