Renmin Park, known as the first park in Guangzhou

Renmin Park is located in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. It opened in 1921 and is the first comprehensive park in Guangzhou. The park was the site of government offices and official residences from the Sui Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. In 1917, at the suggestion of Sun Yat-sen, it was converted into a park and named the First Municipal Park. The park is located on the traditional central axis of the old city of Guangzhou, covering an area of 44,600 square meters. It adopts an Italian courtyard garden layout in a square and symmetrical form. The park is home to towering ancient trees, green hedges, flower clusters, and many historical sites and relics, making it not only a great place for citizens to relax but also a place rich in history and culture.
