Pearl of the South: A Guangzhou Layover from Heritage to Skyline

Strolling along the tree-lined streets, I admired the elegant Western-style buildings, remnants of Guangzhou’s rich trading history. The peaceful ambiance, with locals enjoying morning tea, felt like a step back in time. Next, I headed to the modern icon of the city—Canton Tower. Standing beneath the towering structure, I marveled at its twisting design before taking the Bubble Tram at the top. The panoramic view of Guangzhou’s skyline and the winding Pearl River was breathtaking. As night fell, I took a Pearl River night cruise, watching the city come alive in dazzling lights. The shimmering reflections of skyscrapers on the water, with Canton Tower glowing in vibrant colors, created the perfect ending to my short yet memorable layover in Guangzhou.
