Cantonese Opera, also known as Guangfu Opera or Guangdong Opera, is the largest genre of Cantonese opera in Guangdong and Guangxi.It originated in Foshan and is sung in Cantonese. It is popular in Guangdong Province, southern Guangxi, Hong Kong, Macau and other places, and has spread to Cantonese overseas Chinese settlements in Southeast Asia and the United States. The formation of Cantonese opera can be traced back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It originated from Southern Opera and absorbed the Haiyan cavity, Yiyang cavity, Kunshan cavity, clapper cavity and other cavities, and gradually formed in combination with the folk music of the Pearl River Delta.Around 1912, Cantonese opera performances have basically changed to the Guangzhou dialect, and the performance system has become more and more perfect.
