Guangdong Museum (廣東省博物館)

Guangdong Museum was a fantastic way to dive deep into the culture, history, and natural beauty of the region — and it’s free! As a traveler who loves museums, this one really stood out for its modern design (the building itself looks like a giant treasure box) and the wide variety of exhibits inside. From ancient jade artifacts and calligraphy masterpieces to displays about Lingnan culture and the Silk Road, there’s something for everyone. My personal favorite was the section on marine fossils, which gave a cool twist to the usual historical artifacts. The museum is large but well-organized, so you won’t feel overwhelmed. If you’re traveling with kids or family, this is a great educational stop. Best part? It’s right in Zhujiang New Town, so after your visit, you can wander around Flower City Square for some incredible skyline views. Highly recommend it for a cultural afternoon.
