Go back to the source of the Pearl River and witness the glory of the Maritime Silk Road

#Guangzhou Attractions Early in the morning, we came to the Guangdong Customs Museum located on the bank of the Pearl River. The museum's classical architecture exudes a strong historical atmosphere, and the huge dome and towering bell tower seem to tell the prosperity of past trade. The museum houses a wide variety of exhibits, ranging from old navigation instruments to trading receipts, all of which bear witness to the Maritime Silk Road. Through the guided tour, we learned that this place was once an important hub for trade between China and the world, and we had a deeper understanding of Guangzhou’s extraordinary position in the history of maritime trade. In the afternoon, we strolled to Shamian Island to admire the exotic European-style buildings. This quiet island seemed to take us back to the colonial period, full of history and poetry.
